1. Describe how organizing differs from planning as a basic management function. Explain how these functions relate to each other. Organizing: The structure that uses arranging of personnel to gather their resources in order to accomplish the goal. Planning: A process that lays out what are the goals that management wants to achieve. These two processes are related because they both require planning to complete their goals. 2. What are the organizational uses of the job description? Provide examples with your response. Some of the organizational uses of the job description is that is helps to maintain the task assigned to an employee. It provides an outline of what is expecting for anyone filling that position. For example, A manager needs to ensure that the new hired member knows what the requirements of the position they just obtained. It is also useful in the sense that if the position requires an individual that works in the medical record department, they do not hire an individual who is the accountant. The organizational use for a job description also helps with organization to make sure the right person is hired for the job. It makes sure that the functions required for the position are the exact skills that the employee has. For instance, I am a manager and am looking for a nurse to work in one of the clinics. I would make sure that the job description includes aspects that are expected of a nurse that is in that position. This kind of organization allows the facility to continue to hire the right individual without the possibilities of failure. 3. The job analysis serves what purpose in the development of the job description? The job analysis serves the purpose in the sense that it provides a single source in the various uses concerning the position.
