3/29 Names: John Lennon Paul McCartney George Harrison Ringo Starr The Quarrymen - the original name of the Beatles, started by John in 1957 Stuart Sutcliffe - original bass player for the Beatles Mary Quant - "Swinging London" 60's fashion designer, invented the miniskirt 3/31 Names: Andy White - studio drummer for "Love Me Do" on the Please Please Me album George Martin - the Beatles producer Pete Best - drummer for the Beatles before Ringo Locations: Cavern Club - club in Liverpool where the Beatles often performed Terms: cover song - a band's version of a song that is not originally theirs. Beatles examples: “Boys”, “Chains”, “Please Mr. Postman”. No cover song appeared on a Beatles album after Help! The Beatles did three types of cover songs 1. Rockers--example: “Long Tall Sally” 2. Girl Group Songs--example: “Boys” 3. Broadway/Film Songs--example: “A Taste of Honey” Song-Structure, Song Map Terms: Intro Verse - same or nearly-same melody, some or all of the words change
