The scabs received as much teargas as they threw to the people. They also managed to shoot teargas into the houses and unfortunately burnt down one of the horses. This tactic did not instill fear into them and they also got backing from their husbands and children and together they gave the police a fight they had never experienced before in their lives. This was the beginning of a fight against low wages that both men and women were ready to ensure their pleas were heard out. In 1933-1939, the then U.S President Franklin D.
