Email: vish.hegde@csueastbay.edu COURSE OVERVIEW Course Objectives Project management is becoming increasingly more important in today’s world. Mastery of key tools and concept s could give you significant competitive advantage in the marketplace. This course focuses on planning, scheduling, organizing, and managing projects - e.g., product development, construction, information systems, new business, and special events. The course is based on the four functions of project management (planning, organizing, leading, and controlling) as the primary management functions required to conduct a project on time, on budget, and with quality that satisfies customer requirements. Primary class emphasis is on the project management process and tools. Learning Outcomes Provide experience in using the concepts, techniques, and decision tools available to project managers. Enhance student's basic understanding of the importance of work breakdown structures and networks to planning, scheduling, and controlling projects. Create an awareness of potential conflicts and problems that can occur on projects. Prepare the student to effectively participate as a project team member.
