They are currently deciding whether to build a new facility, sub- contract research to an existing firm, or simply license our the technology. Additionally after finishing research, deciding to manufacture the product or to sub- contract the manufacturing and marketing operations. Research The first option is for Acquionics to build their own facility with in house labs. This option offers the most control over protecting patent and intellectual property. Furthermore the facility itself could become a beneficial asset to the firm, however costs associated with building a new facility would require a $5 million investment.
