Running head: UNIT 6 MIDTERM PROJECT 1 Unit 6 Midterm Project: What I have learned in IT273 IT 273-02 Joshua Nolan Kaplan University Professor Carol Edwards-Walcott April 28, 2011 What I have learned in IT273 This term started out with excitement as I was finally going to start learning about the field that I had chosen to work in, that excitement slowly turned into being scared to death. I honestly thought coming into this class, it was going to be so easy. I mean how hard is it to take CAT5 and plug it into a router or a computer? Who knew that there was so much to learn in the networking field? The first thing I recall is the OSI model, the OSI model shows exactly how computers transfer and receive information between each other.(Dean, 2010). The complexity of the model at first glance, was when I figured out this class was not going to be easy that there was a lot more to it than just plugging CAT5 into a port. Having knowledge of the OSI model will help me while studying to get Cisco certified as a network administrator. Learning about the different type’s network topologies was very interesting as
