Morgan’s experiments showed a connection between a genetic trait and the inheritance of a sex chromosome in Drosophila. Morgan was an embryologist who worked with the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster. Normally, Drosophila individuals have red eyes. However, by using X-rays, Morgan was able to generate a fly that had a mutation for white eyes. #1 - red-eyed female x whiteeyed male-> 100% red-eyedhe T (F1) #2 - F1 red-eyed female x F1 red-eyed male-> 75% red-eyed and 25% white-eyed (F2) goal.
