2CONFLICTING FRIENDSHIPIntroductionStephen King's novel is more of a horror tale which tells the story of a haunted Plymouth Fury named Christine. The car had been owned by Ronald LeBay who later decided to sell at a low price it to Arnie after it had killed his family. Arnie is an unsocial school student who is said to have been bullied, shy and so much processed in books and his best friend remained to be Dennis Guilder, so different from him regarding character and behaviour. The central theme in this novel is the conflict which is seen from the beginning ofthe story all the way till the end. A first we are introduced to the disagreements between the two friends, Arnie, and Dennis on the car, Christine, Dennis dislikes the car after seeing a vision of its history though Arnie seems so possessed in it. Arnie collides with almost everyone for choosing to buy that car which is said to have been owned by supernatural forces. Another conflict is seen between Christine and Arnie close friend and family, she is jealous and torments Arnies most intimate acquaintances. But the main conflict lies between these two friends, Arnie, and Dennis who seem irritate each the more they work together the main reason being their difference in opinions, character, and many disagreements.DiscussionDennis gets irritated by Arnie's interest in cheap things like the old Plymouth Fury parked behind a building.
