FOR AGES AFRICAN AMERICANS HAVE BEE MANIPULATING THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, WHICH APPEARS TO BE ACCEPTED BOTH THROUGH LITERATURE AND VERBAL SPEAKING. IN THE 21ST CENTURY THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IS FACED WITH A TASK OF REFORMING A LANGUAGE SUPPOSIDLY CALL "BLACK ENGLISH" OR "EBONY PHONICS," DEPICTING WHAT IS WIDELY KNOWN AS EBONICS. AFRICAN AMERICANS AND OTHER ETHNIC GROUPS HAVE BEEN SPEAKING BROKEN ENGLISH FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THE USE OF EBONICSS HAS BECOME A CONTRAVERSIAL ISSUE IN THE WORLD TODAY. THE OAKLAND SCHOOL DISR\TRICT RAISED THE ISSUE OF USING EBONICS IN THE CLASSROOM TO HELP STUDENTS RECOGNIZE AND USE PROPER ENGLISH. HOWEVER, THESE ISSUES HAVE ALMOST BECOME AN UNCONTROLLABE MATTER, BECAUSE THE USE OF EBONICS IS MISREPRESENTED. MANY SEEM TO THINK TEACHING EBONICS IS VERY HELPFUL, WHILE OTHERS DISAGREE. THE REFORMATION OF EBONICS IS NOT AND WILL NOT BE A POSITIVE PATH FOR THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM TO PURSUE. THE PROCESS OF ATTEMPTING TO TEACH STANDARD ENGLISH PRACTICES THROUGH 'BLACK ENGLISH', EBONICS, IS A BAD IDEA BECAUSE: IT IS NOT A UNIVERSIAL
