Psy 265 Week 5 "In Western culture, few sexual practices have met with such widespread censure as sexual activities with members of one's own sex", (Rathus, Nevid & Fichner-Rathus, 2005 ). However it was not always like that. For example, in ancient Greece, men would often form sexual relationships with young men. These such relationships was at the time the young men were growing their first beards. One of the main sexual activities was depicted on Greek vases, of the older man inserting his penis between the young man's thighs and not in the anus. He would thrust until he ejaculated. Centuries later, Romans would describe very highly feminine gay men, dressed flamboyantly with showy hair styles, cruising the neighborhoods looking for a partner. "The apostle Paul commented on this behavior as the key sign of the decadence of Rome, and the Christian Church assumed a strongly negative attitude toward homosexuality", (Rathus, Nevid & Fichner-Rathus, 2005 , ). During the fifteenth century, Florence, a Christian city, was widely believed to have several sodomites which are Jews and Christians that have been traditionally called male-male sexual activity as the sin of Sodom. However, sodomy was very common in Florence as well as disturbing to the city's governors, that "the Office of the Night" was created in 1432. This enabled the population there to anonymously accuse the people who performed the act of sodomy.
