Dept. of Electrical Engineering EE 114, Winter 2011 Computer Assignment 2 - Solutions Abstract : This assignment explored the efiect of pre-emphasis fllters on speech fllters. Speciflcally, it studied the efiect of pre-emphasis on perception and spectral shape. Additionally, the assign- ment looked at the extraction of speech signal parameters from time- and frequency-domains of voiced speech. Formant frequencies were estimated from log-magnitude spectra, and fundamental frequencies were estimated from time-waveforms.
