You want to install from the Internet: I put my installation in C:\cygwin, which is the default, and the package cache in C:\cygwin-package, which is not. Keep the recommended settings

There are several download sites to choose from. I usually pick either one that ends in “.edu” or “.gov”, as they tend to have better connectivity. (Note that some .edu domains will only be accessible from a University network connection, and NOT some off- campus locations.) Now, you’ll select the set of tools you want to install. Note that this is pretty much the minimum set you’ll need for 280. There are LOTS of other really useful things!
