For child abuse prevention is the key to protecting the child. If parents are educated on the necessities of what it takes to raise, love, provide for, and nurture children, child abuse/neglect would gradually decrease over time. Love in my opinion is a learned behavior. If a parent was abused or neglected as a child, they themselves become the aggressor and they treat their children the same way. The system used to guide us in reporting procedures for signs of abuse or neglect is effective yet flawed. A person only needs to suspect child abuse and that alone is grounds for reporting. That’s a flaw in the system. I think they should have substantial evidence when reporting a parent/caregiver. However, even that can be tricky, concrete evidence for emotional abuse is harder to find because it’s a psychological behavior. Psychological abuse is “the sustained, repetitive, inappropriate behavior which damages, or substantially reduces, the creative and developmental potential of crucially important mental faculties and mental
