The student is expected to understand the models and techniques relevant to insurance and to be able to apply them to solve problems set in a business context. Course Description Topics to be discussed include: Survival distributions and life tables Life insurance Life annuities

Attendance will be taken which constitute 5% of the total marks. The tutorials will be conducted on W2-3. Grading There will be one final examination , one test and four to five assignments . The final grade will be weighted as follows: Assignments 20% Tutorials 5% Test 25% Final Examination 50% Total 100% Attention is drawn to University policy and regulations on honesty in academic work, and to the disciplinary guidelines and procedures applicable to breaches of such policy and regulations.
