THE CONTRIBUTION OF ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS 2 The Contribution of Enterprise Systems 1) What are enterprise systems? Provide examples of organizational functions supported by enterprise systems. Enterprise systems are software and hard ware that combine the different computer systems for a large organization, basically each department still has their own computer systems, but now the information is delivered instantly to managers and employees and the rest of the organization so that it may operate more efficiently. They help an organizations operational excellence, customer intimacy, and improved decision-making. It also helps to integrate information from many different parts of the organization, makes closer ties with customers, and coordinates the organizations activities with those of their suppliers and other partners. It helps to mature a business, provides real-time information
