Unformatted text preview: I n Case Study I just had to test a theory regarding my mother earlier this year. My mother
came to live with us after a failed relationship. She has a brain injury from an
accident at work and takes medicine to prevent seizures. When my mother first
moved in with us she was doing great, my husband and I quickly noticed that

her therapist she felt my mother was doing this to get attention and also to get more
medicine. So the theory was stated and the therapist replaced my mother’s
medicine with a vitamin. She told us to act like we would normally, give her the
medicine and report back to her in 2 weeks. After reading the chapter I would say

because she as receiving the attention she desired without them. I was very
shocked to learn this was all a put on, but I now understand my mother more.
G iven the chance I would change my atti tude and give my mother the attention from
t he beginning, but I would do these same steps if I had to again. I feel the theory
was proven and we were able to address the problems. ...
