Urinary and Reproductive System Disorders Renal calculi (kidney stones) : calcium crystals form in ureter block urine flow; treated with water, surgery, vibrations Cervical cancer : common in young women, asymptomatic, associated with HPV Pap smear : scrape cervical cells and check for cancer Ectopic pregnancy : embryo implants in oviduct instead of uterus oviduct may rupture Endometriosis : endometrial tissue forms and menstruates in other organs and areas of the body Pelvic Inflammatory disease (PID ): infection of reproductive structures; associated with many STD’s Cryptochidism : failure of the testicles to descend into the scrotum and remain in the abdomen possible sterility Impotence/Erectile Disfunction : inability to achieve or maintain an erection
