SOLUTION: a) In order to achieve maximum undistorted output swing the collector current of ³ 2 , ´ ´µ 2 should be set in the middle of the AC load line. Thus ´ 2 = µ ´´ ? ¶´ 2 + ? ·¸ 2 ,where ? 2 = ? 4 + ? 5 and ? ·¸ 2 = ? 4 ∣∣ ? ¹ + ? 5 (1) = 20 3 +2 ? 2 =3 Ωand ? ·¸ 2 =2 Ω =4 ·±. Consequently ´ ºµ 2 ´ 2 ·± .So µ 2 = ´ 2 ? 5 µ .
