Spring 2011 EEE472/591 – Power Electronics and Power Management Raja Ayyanar Homework 4 Due: March 24, Thursday Problem 1: (50 points) The specifications and the parameter values for a boost converter are given below. It is desired to regulate the output voltage constant at 200V. ,max ,min : 72 ; : 200 ; 4 , 2 100 , 660 , 0.1 in o o o VV V V I A I A LH CF E S R   (a) Design a controller based on K-Factor approach to achieve a bandwidth of 1 kHz and a phase margin of 60 0 . Design the controller corresponding to the load current of 2 A (worst case for controller design because of the RHP zero). Show Bode plots of the overall loop gain with the designed controller at two conditions – (1) I o = 2 A, and (2) I o = 4 A (b) Perform a time domain simulation of the boost converter with the designed controller and study the performance of the system for step change in load current from 2A to 4A and from 4A to 2 A. Show time domain PLECS or PSpice plots of the output voltage corresponding to the
