Tyson Foods, Incorporated serves as the nation’s second largest broiler producer and is a very volatile company serving in different sectors of the world including China, India, and Brazil with other operations serving in Mexico. Tyson Chicken is also the nation’s leader in poultry production as well as the innovator in designing the production process. They use an integrated system that is vertically integrated so they are able to assist in the makings of all factors or production; from harvesting the commodity to the consumer. Its operations, however, has grown tremendously reaching over 31%. Donnie Smith, senior group vice president for poultry & prepare foods, explained why the company has no stomach for further broiler production cuts. He was able to drop the amount per pound in its product finished & this in turn, has helped increase production rates while cutting costs where needed.
