Crash Discussion Questions 1. Crash illustrates conflict because it shows the consequences of what happens when people of different cultures, socioeconomic status, races, and moral backgrounds collide. The book defines conflict as “the interference between two or more interdependent individuals or groups of people who perceive incompatible goals, values, or expectations in attaining those ends.” Every story in this movie represents conflict. The situations show what happens when the different views of different people collide. People have certain expectations when they go into situations with other people and when those expectations are not met, then conflict arises. The movie crash is a perfect example of how stereotypes and prejudices create conflict. 2. The conflict styles between Farhab and Lucien differed so much that it caused Farhab to try and shoot Lucien. Farhab’s conflict style is dominating because he cannot see other’s views and wants his way to be right. In my opinion, Lucien is a mixture of compromising
