Com 353 Survey Question: What is the proportion of Miami students that have premium cable vs regular cable and why? Survey: We chose this method because we saw it as the easiest, quickest, and most efficient way to reach students. For example, if we chose a mail survey we wouldn’t have had enough time to mail it out and get feedback. With a telephone survey it would have been unrealistic because most student houses and dorms don’t have landlines. One option that we did consider was a focus group but we wanted to reach a larger number of students. We also felt that a focus group would supply qualitative rather than quantitative data which is not something that we were necessarily looking for. Lastly, the call out method could not be applicable because we are doing a survey about television not radio. Questionnaire: For the information that we want we formed a short questionnaire. We started out with classification information questions because we figured they would be easiest and participants wouldn’t be discouraged to finish the survey. To create less confusion we made our content questions very specific and narrow by asking questions that would produce specific answers. Also, to reduce response error we tried to limit the
