Writing Guidelines for Second Paper Assignment
The second paper must be at least 1500 words and no more than 3000 words in length. This paper
can either be a revised and expanded version of the first paper or a completely different paper. If
you choose to revise and expand your first paper, you need to advance a position, and not just
describe or explain a moral theory or an ethical dilemma. If you choose to write a completely
different second paper, you can advance a position on any of the topics covered in this course.
This paper must be double spaced and typed in 12-point Times New Roman or similar font. The
bibliography and, if applicable, the title page are excluded from the page length requirement.
Remember, a bibliography is required for academic papers. Please do not forget to include one.
Anyone who neglects to write a bibliography will have some points deducted from the second

If you use a Mac desktop computer of laptop computer, the Mac OS might make it difficult, if not
impossible, for you to upload your paper onto Blackboard. If this happens, do one of these two
things: 1) use Firefox web browser to access Blackboard and then upload paper or, if that does
not work, 2) upload your paper from a PC desktop computer or laptop computer.
In any case,
late papers will not be accepted.
