Step 1: Note Completion Time Do this during administration μ =90 min (pencil & paper); 70 min (computer) Look for: >120 minutes; <60 minutes High # of erasures

Step 2a: Score (Hand Scoring) Validity Scales 1. Mark out omissions (?) and double marked items with a red pencil. Count and enter number to the right of “? Raw score” 2. Score Validity Scales with scoring templates and write down raw scores 3. Make K Corrections to raw scores on Hs, Pd, Pt, Sc & Ma using the appropriate fractions in the left column of the profile sheet 4. Plot the raw scores on the profile sheet and connect the plots on the validity scales

Step 2b: Determine Profile Validity Look for patterns Consider the context that might exist with respondent’s response style Defensive/fake good Fake bad Inconsistent Consider the gain that the respondent might get from the response set Reserve some judgment until all other scales are scored (look at the whole pattern)
