Luis Jiménez Sculptor Luis Jiménez was born on July 30 th , 1940 in El Paso, Texas. His father, who was an undocumented immigrant, had artistic abilities and had hoped to become a professional artist. Luis’ father worked with making creative neon signs that were colorful and vibrant and his grandfather had been a glassblower as well. Luis became exposed to art at a very young age. When he was only six years old he began working in his father’s shop and he soon discovered that he appreciated art as much as his family did. He familiarized himself with paint and fiberglass. Also, Luis and his father would occasionally take trips to museums or buildings that contained paintings of any sort. Later on, Luis attended the University of Texas where he began studying architecture; shortly after he switched his major to art and earned a fine arts degree. After Jiménez received his degree, he headed to New York. He felt liberated and freer to express himself there because of the diversity.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
