Topic: Organization General Purpose: To inform Specific Purpose: At the end of my speech, the audience will be able to see that I am a very organized person. Item: Planner Pattern: Topical Introduction I. Attention Getter: How many people actually use their school planner on a daily basis? Many of you may be able to get away with not using your planner or just simply choose not to. However, my planner is a vital part of my daily life and greatly improves my organizational skills. II. Thesis: I wouldn’t be able to function if I didn’t make some type of list or look at my calendar every day. III. Speaker Credibility/Goodwill: I make lists daily and keep and up-to-date calendar of events, birthdays, and homework. IV. Relevance to Audience: Everyone is either organized or disorganized so the audience will be able to relate to my organization skills or learn new techniques. V. Preview: Today I will tell you about what I organize daily, how organization affects my school life, and how it helps with my social life. Transition:
