Jacob McMillen History of Rock ‘n’ Roll Musical Memories I listen to predominantly Christian music and so a lot of my experience with music is tied into my spiritual walk with Christ. I learned how to play guitar for the purpose of worshiping my Savior and have played almost every day for that purpose since 6 th grade. For a long time, the only way I could connect with God was through playing my guitar and singing to Him. Over the last year, I have led worship for various groups and every time is a new and incredible experience. While I don’t know if I would consider any of these experiences significantly “life-changing,” a couple of them do stand out. The first involved a mission trip I took to East Asia last summer. Our group of about 40 met in Washington D.C. for briefing and I led worship several times over the three days we were there. The last night, following our final meeting before take-off, we had an extra worship set for those who wanted to participate as it would be our last chance to sing Christian songs for the next month.
