1) If you were the defense attorney representing Mayo would you try to negotiate a plea agreement on his behalf or go to trial?Being the defense attorney for Mayo, I would try and negotiate I plea bargain on his behalf. The manslaughter charge he would be facing considering there was a weapon involved could carry a lengthy sentence. In the case, that this was his first offense I would try and show that also, that there was no need to do lengthy sentence for a person that could be rehabilitated and return to be a contributing member of society. Mayo strictly went to work that day and was not looking for trouble, so he should not be considered someone that is a future threat to society. If he went to trial, he could face a longer sentence than if a plea bargain could be negotiated. Mayo could also be faced with more charges if the courts decided to go that route, which again could result in himfacing a longer sentence. His actions do need to be accounted for, but if a plea was reached this could also save the court time and money. This can also be considered for the victim’s family if
