Personalized Nutrition and Exercise Plan Jessie Reed SCI/241 May 8, 2011 Thomas Picken Exercise and nutrition is very important as they both provide the body with everything that it needs in order to be healthy. Creating a plan that focuses on exercise and nutrition will me reach my weight gain goals and maintain them. The Recommended Dietary Allowances, Recommended Dietary Intakes for my age group and gender is that I need to take in 2000 calories a day, as I am a 28- year-old female that is 5’1. I also, need to be active 30-60 minutes a day. I need to take in 6 oz of grains, 2.5 cups of vegetables, 2 cups of fruits, 3 cups of milk and 5.5 ounces of meat and beans a day. My plan on MyPyramid.gov has stated the above. There are several health problems and nutritional needs that are common in my family. My nutritional need however, is not family related and is stress induced. I currently have low iron and am underweight. I say that my being underweight is stress induced as I have a hard time eating or even keeping my food down when I do eat while being stressed. Since I have a hard time eating during this time, I have become underweight and I have developed low iron. I currently have low iron and am underweight. Personalized Nutrition and Exercise Plan Jessie Reed SCI/241 May 8, 2011 Thomas Picken during this time, I have become underweight and I have developed low iron. I typically jog/walk 3-4 miles a day and do stairs for about 1 mile and bike 3 miles. I need to decrease my miles per day for my health, as I am underweight. However, I feel these are all best for me as I jog and work out as a stress relief.
