HOMEWORK: You Are What You Eat?! INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Write down what you eat for a single day, giving the nutritional information on EVERY food item consumed (don’t cheat!) in the Diet Summary Chart . Most people do not realize just how bad their diets are until they are confronted with EXACTLY what they eat. To find out the calories content and the amount of nutrients proteins, fats, sugars, complex carbohydryates (more generically known as “starches”), use the website below (screen shot from this website at bottom of page!): http://www.howmanycaloriesin.com/ 2. Do the calculations (see Example on page 2): a. Calculate the Calorie Equivalent (may NOT be the same as the Total Calories, but that’s OKAY!) b. Calculate the Percent Equivalent for each nutrient 3.
