Introduction: Political ideologies in America have always fascinated me. With such a diverse population, amongst demographics of race, culture, and religious affiliation, it is difficult to pinpoint which aspects of oneself the average American would based most political opinions on. One theory states that all of these facets of oneself, including gender and age, affect each individual simultaneously and create the platform from which he or she may evaluate political concepts, ideas, and the worldviews of others. Should this be true, personal political perceptions, opinions, and ideas will vary among a virtually infinite spectrum of classifications. However wide this range may be, this personal identification based on a specific set of beliefs seems to be a stable enough variable to test. Homosexuality and the dynamics of how it is viewed amongst different societies have been of special interest to me for the past few years. I have studied and done leisurely research on different legislations that have passed regarding rights for homosexuals. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
