I. COMPANY ANALYSIS With so many businesses in the world, company branding becomes a must and a necessity; therefore, The Regulators have positioned themselves not only in the business world but in the industry and have become the leading provider in the uniform industry. The Regulators design, manufacture and implement corporate identity uniform programs and provide entrance mats, restroom cleaning and supplies, carpet and tile cleaning, promotional products, first aid and safety products, fire protection services and document management services for approximately 800,000 businesses throughout the world. The Regulators operate 420 facilities in the U.S. and Canada, including four manufacturing plants and eight distribution centers that employ more than 30,000 people. Within the uniform rental and laundry service industry, The Regulators lead the industry with over 3.5 million dollars in sales, followed by Duskin Company, Limited with 1.9 million dollars, then Aramark Uniform and Career Apparel, the Davis Service Group, and National 3 72% 7% 10% 11%

The Regulators have eleven business divisions with over 800,000 clients and their services are not the same for every client of The Regulators, but because they value every client, each new contract is given full attention. Four of the business divisions that play a role in this research project are the corporate group which provides strategic planning, accounting, data processing, human resources, engineering, marketing and administrative services; the rental division which is the largest division of the Regulators, provides uniform rental service to 4

customers throughout the U.S. and Canada; clean room division that specializes in apparel service, supplies and equipment for sterile and non-sterile clean rooms and other critical applications; and global accounts and strategic markets which includes customizing rental, direct sales, or lease of uniform programs for national and regional customers. The Regulators also design, manufacture, sell and deliver quality uniforms to high-image clients, which include airlines, hotels, and restaurants. The Regulators were founded on the foundation of building meaningful and respectful relationships between the company and the employee-partners and this culture that was established by “Doc” Farmer in 1929 remains true today. The Regulators also have a committed relationship to its employees in which teamwork and trust has become a pivotal role in every interaction despite the level of authority. II.
