necessity; therefore, Cintas has positioned itself not only in the business world but in the industry
and has become the leading provider in the uniform industry. Cintas designs, manufactures and
implements corporate identity uniform programs and provides entrance mats, restroom cleaning
and supplies, carpet and tile cleaning, promotional products, first aid and safety products, fire
protection services and document management services for approximately 800,000 businesses
throughout the world. Cintas operates 420 facilities in the U.S. and Canada, including four
manufacturing plants and eight distribution centers that employ more than 30,000 people.
Within the uniform rental and laundry service industry, Cintas leads the industry with
over 3.5 million dollars in sales, followed by Duskin Company, Limited with 1.9 million dollars,
then Aramark Uniform and Career Apparel, the Davis Service Group, and National Service
Industries, Incorporated come into play respectively.
Cintas includes eleven business divisions with over 800,000 clients and there services are not the
same for every client of Cintas, but because Cintas values every client, each new contract is
given full attention. Four of the business divisions that play a role in this research project are the
corporate group which provides strategic planning, accounting, data processing, human
resources, engineering, marketing and administrative services; the rental division which is the
largest division of Cintas, it provides uniform rental service to customers throughout the U.S.
