Uses of Cryotherapy pain, swelling, & secondary hypoxic (lack of oxygen) injury Endema suffocates the healthy tissues (causes hypoxia) (IMPORTANT) Allows active exercise earlier (cryokenetics) Cryokenetics will get the edema out due to active movement (hot to cold…then according to pain do stretches etc) pain and spasm in Assisting in stretching connective tissue Reducing pain and cramps during menstruation Minimizing pain when medications are injected
