Doris Humphrey and Charles Weidman trained with Denishawn and founded the Humphrey-Weidman School and Dance Company. Developed a technique based on fall and recovery with strong emphasis on balance and the pull of gravity. Martha Graham was also a Denishawn student established the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance. Arguably the most influential figure in American modern dance.
