Phase III- The Stone Monument (The Sun) 2000BC -1700BC This phase dealt mostly with the solar alignments, which shows a shift from P1. Wessex Culture- These are the new people here. They focus more on agriculture by using more means to grow such as water, use more human sources, and their crops are more sedentary(immobile). Also, bronze has been found here indicating more property- oriented people (materiality). More permanence is seen here. In this phase, the alignment was changed more to connect with the sun. A Heel Stone was added in the Avenue which moved the original alignment in P1 south just a bit. There was a straight line from the center through the Heel Stone. Also, there is a Slaughter stone that is near the entrance from the Avenue into Stonehenge. Also, the Avenue was widened to 45 feet and extended to the Avon River. It starts off at a straight path towards to NE and then it curves down and hits the Avon River. The stones from the Y and Z holes may have been taken out to be used in P# so now
