CLAS 131 Final Exam
The final exam, which is worth 25% of your final grade, will be administered in our
classroom (Manning 209) from 12:00-3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14. If you are
entitled to reschedule the exam, and wish to do so, LET ME KNOW IMMEDIATELY.
The exam will be designed to take 2 hours; you will have an additional hour if you need
it. It will give you the opportunity to earn a total of 250 points, so each point will be
worth 0.1% of your final grade.
It will consist of four parts: Multiple Choice, Fill in the Blank, Correct the Errors, and
Essays. The first three you will be able to complete on the test itself; for the last, you will
need to BRING A BLUE BOOK to write in.
This section is designed to test you mainly on recognition and identification of
important characters, myths, authors, works, historical events, ideas, etc. There
will be 25 questions, from which you may choose 20 to be scored; each correct
answer is worth 3 points (a maximum total of 60 points may be earned on this

This section is designed to test you mainly on your ability to select the relevant
characters, myths, works, historical events, ideas, etc. to use in discussing a
problem, constructing an argument, examining an idea, etc. There will be 20
questions, from which you must choose 15 to be scored; each correct answer will
earn you 2 points (a maximum total of 30 points may be earned on this section).
