Web. 09 May 2011. Japanese canned drinking vending machines uses facial recognition technology to recommend drinks to customers depending on their age and gender. Since these machines have been introduced, sales have tripped over traditional vending machines. The machines includes touch panel screens and sensors that allow the machines to recognize the characteristics of a customers. Recommendations will range based on age so a young man way be recommend a coffee drink, however, an older man is likely recommend a green tea.
