Carla Trump March 24, 2011 ITIP #2 Miss Carla’s Store 2 nd  Grade I. Standards a. M.UN.02.07 Read and write amounts of money using decimal notations, e.g., $1.15. b. M.PS.02.10 Solve simple word problems involving length and money II.  Objectives/ Benchmarks a. The student will be able to draw monetary amounts in their coin/bill form by  drawing pictures of the coins/bills on his or her whiteboard to be checked by the  teacher. b. The student will be able to convert monetary amounts into their decimal notations by  looking at the amount written on each object and copying the notation on the white  board. c. The student will be able to find different ways to make a monetary amount by using  various combinations of coins and dollar bills. III. Anticipatory Set IV.  Input a. Task Analysis I will begin the lesson with a quick recap of what we have learned about  money so far. I will ask the students how many cents each coin is worth and  ask what combinations they can use to make a certain amount. I will have  them draw the coins on their whiteboards and then I will put the correct  answer on the overhead. I will continue the lesson by asking the students to get out their money  packets and 5 pennies and put away the whiteboards/markers. I will continue the lesson by explaining to the students that they are now all  “customers” in Miss Carla’s Store and they will all have the opportunity to  “buy” objects (but they can’t keep them). I will introduce the various objects
