Did you know that Americans use 2,500,000 plastic bottles every hour? Most of them are thrown away! These materials are easily overlooked as just being trash. In actuality they are life savers. Recycling is the process of taking a product at the end of its useful life and using all or part of it to make another product. The worldwide known symbol for recycling is three arrows moving in a triangle. Each arrow representing a different part of the recycling process, from collection to re- manufacture to resale. Recycling is a simple way that we, as consumers, can lend a hand out to the environment, create a beneficial market for recycled goods, and help preserve natural resources from being used up. The sad news is that the U.S. is the #1 trash-producing country in the world at 1,609 pounds per person per year. This means that 5% of the world's
