Garrett Johnson November 10, 2010 Sociology Breakfast Club The breakfast club is a very interesting movie. There are some important messages that are installed with watching this movie. There are five kids from this high school in Illinois (suburban Chicago) that have detention on a Saturday morning in which they all learn important values about their selves and fellow peers. They all come from different social groups and are forced to deal with each other and each other’s social baggage. They all learn that each of them is very different in culture but deal with the same social problems. Each student in detention had major differences; there was a jock, criminal, dork, prom queen and a basket case. Even though each person had different peer groups, expectations, and pressures, they all learn very quickly they aren’t very much different from each other and accept who they are. In this movie there were several instances where each student made comments about their home lives. Each student had problems with their parents and how they struggle with
