Chemistry 109B Spring 2011 HFH Rm. 1104, 11am Donald H. Aue Chemistry Rm. 2134, [email protected] Office Hours : M,W,F 12 noon, questions by e-mail, or e-mail to make appointment Review sessions : I will lead review sessions from 5:00-6:30 pm the day before each exam Sundays in Chem 1179. Text : Bruice, Organic Chemistry, 6 th , 5 th , or 3rd or 4 th Ed., and study guide and solutions manual (all in Res Book Room under 109AB) Suggested: Klein, Organic Chemistry as a Second Language, Wiley ISBN 0471-27235-3. Copy in study room PSBN 2653. Grading : 2 MT exams(100 pts ea) Mon. Apr. 18, Mon. May. 16, Final Exam(200 pts) Thur, June 9 12-3pm (as in finals schedule) There may also be some 10-point announced quizzes (lowest quiz score will be dropped) to help get you ready for the midterms. No make-up exams will be given. Be sure you are available on the exam dates. In my experience, class averages should be approximately 65% and letter grades will be on a scale with C’s(C-,C,C+) starting at approximately 55-60%, B’s 67%, A’s 79%. This scale may be adjusted somewhat according to my judgment.
