1. Factors that can result who is likely to be a smoker consist of the following: Limited Education o Most people with less than 12 years of education are more likely to smoke than those that have graduated from college. Adolescent Experiment and Rebellion o Dealing with boredom and frustration, gaining admission into a peer group, a way to have fun, boost energy, they smoke when they feel helpless, lonely, and depressed. Stress o High stress levels are 15 times more likely to be a smoker. Parental Role Models o A smoker who is a mother, their child is more likely to smoke because it seems acceptable. Adolescents are more likely to smoke if their parents smoke. Addiction o Nicotine addiction is as strong as addictions to drugs. Mental Disorder o Smokers are more likely to be depressed. Genetics o Say twins, if one is a heavy smoker the other will most likely be a smoker as well, and women are more likely to smoke than men are. Weight Control o Instead of diet pills, fasting, smoking is the way to control how they feel about weight. Aggressive Marketing o Advertising promotes the use of cigarettes and promotes the better kinds. 2. Smokers have the right to smoke when they want and how they want. They have the option upon themselves to choose to smoke instead it being a priority. Non- smokers don’t have that choice, they can’t choose to not be around smokers since they are every where they could go. Smoker’s rights consist of:
