Fiscus Brittany Fiscus Professor Chen Political Science 135 June 16, 2010 Congress Struggling with Taxes and Spending This article relates to the discussion on Congress, because it talks about how congress is having problems with how their money is being used and how there is not enough money to do what they want to do with it. There are a lot of issues with unemployment, and doctor’s Medicare. “President Obama upped the pressure over the weekend by pushing Congress to provide money to states to prevent an economic crisis.” In the long run, providing money to those that need it, for instance, Louisiana during hurricane Katrina; they needed an economic uplift in the disaster that was created that needed to be fixed, or the Oklahoma that is flooding, those are the reasons to spend money. Unemployment should not get more money; above the normal 16 weeks of unemployment, for being unemployed. They should be given a job that would be useful to them, such as working in a hospital, or even help those that were in a disaster. At times
