13 Virtues Temperance: moderation or self-restraint in action, statement, etc.; self-control. habitual moderation in the indulgence of a natural appetite or passion, esp. in the use of alcoholic liquors. Eat not to dullness; drink not to elevation. How much should one eat? Recommended: 80% full. Burden for the body. What should one eat? Not something delicious, but something healthy. Low fat, low salt, low sugar; more vegetables fruits and less meat.

13 Virtues Silence Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself; avoid trifling conversation. Do not go off track. Refrain from making irrelevant comments; be focused. Listen carefully so that you do not misunderstand the speaker.

13 Virtues Frugality Make no expense but to do good to others or yourself; i.e., waste nothing. Stingy: reluctant to give or spend; not generous. Frugal on self, but generous on others. “A penny saved is a penny earned.” A special ed teacher with an M.A. cannot afford his own apartment. Mr. Bill Gates would not spend more than $7 for a haircut.

Frugality Principle: do not crave for immediate gratification (I want it, and I want it now ). Cook, instead of eating out. Bring your own food, instead of buying at the cafeteria or vending machines. Use the water fountain or bring a bottle, instead of buying bottled water. Rent a video, instead of going to the theatre.
