GRANTS PROPSALS 2 Grant Proposals The purpose of a grant proposal is to inform a third party of the programs plans and information on the program. It will almost always contain important sections such as an abstract of the proposal, table of contents, specific aims, states the problem, target population, methods to be used, all goals (long and short term), an activity and scheduling timeline, an evaluation plan, and the budget. A grant is usually written in order to help obtain funds for a specific program or target population and will require information such as the programs objectives, goals, current budget, and any other projects or activities that the funding will be used for. The purpose of trying to obtain these funds is to provide financial stability to an organization so that they may provide services to a target population in which they feel need the assistance. The grant proposal relates to the program plan because they need to obtain funds in order to carry out these plans and to continue to do research. Without the funding from government programs usually cannot afford to execute the plan and do the needed research....
