Mitosis and Meiosis The process of mitosis is important to a living organism because it is the reason organisms are able to grow. If this process never exists a person could not heal from a wound and would not be able to grow in height nor other physical reasons that the process may help. People rely on mitosis and could not live their daily lives without it. The process of meiosis is important to a living organism because it is the main reason that a living organism can reproduce. For an example when a female and male fox reproduce the process of meiosis will start to occur. If meiosis does not occur then the female and male fox cannot reproduce. Some living organisms have that exact problem where they cannot reproduce so the process of meiosis can never occur but they could still live without it unlike the process of mitosis....
