Kelvin S. Rubio 10/7/10 Composition 1, Section 1 Journal Entry Professor Pelito Simplicity Zinsser is right. People write complex and wordy sentences, thinking it will sound important. It doesn’t, and I don’t like it. I hate writing essays that are wordy, because I feel that it won’t make any sense. If only people wrote clearly would reading be fun. I now know why few like to read. Endless paragraphs full of empty words could bore anyone to sleep. I mean who want to read this passage? “Such preparations shall be made as will obscure all Federal building, and Non-Federal building occupied by the Federal Government during an air raid for any period of time from visibility by reasons of internal and external illumination.” Not me, which is why I like children’s books.
