Kelvin S. Rubio 5/17/09 Period 9 It was the 1960’s, a time when racism still roams across America. Whites would discriminate black and other ethnic groups, claiming that they are inferior to them. Africans couldn’t take it any more, and decided to fight back. Two famous men who raised people’s hearts, to fight for freedom, their names were Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. Both men had different beliefs yet similar goals. While their ambition for freedom had cost them their own lives, they, had received unbelievable amount of fame by the African Americans. Malcolm and Martin Luther King are the most recognizable freedom fighters in Black history. Martin Luther King was born on January 15, 1929 at his family home in Atlanta, Georgia. All his life, King lived in a world of discrimination, and segregation. King was unable to attend the same schools, the same bathrooms, the same park, the same pool, or even the same fountain at the white; he hopes to be able to end segregation.
