Rubio 12/20/10 Composition 1, Section 075 Reflective Essay Professor Petillo Reflective Essay As a writer I have learned allot about the basic fundamentals of writing an essay, from writing simplistic sentences to avoiding clichés, generalization, and the proper ways of citation. The journals I choose in my portfolio are “Simplicity”, “Body of the Beholder”, “Let it Snow”, “Show and tell”, “The Struggle to be an American Girl”, and “Fun, Oh Boy, Fun. You could die from it”. I chose these journals because many reflect my own personal views, and experiences. “Simplicity” I can relate with because I to can’t stand the idea of people writing such wordy paragraphs, just to sound important. I also struggle to write in a way that everyone could understand what I am trying to say. “Body of Beholder” was my favorite because it pointed out the stereotypes of ethnic women in terms of body size. I can agree with this essay, because I have seen many of these examples in television, magazines, and even Barbie and Bratz dolls. “Let it Snow” I can relate to because I at times feel that my family is dysfunctional, because
